about me

hello! my name is bri, i'm a 26 y/o musician and audio engineer from pittsburgh, pa. my main loves in life (beside my beautiful wife) are my music projects - brake run (shoegaze est. 2023) and bexley moms (seapunk est. 2017). i've also had stints in bands like yes yes a thousand times yes (emo) and still tired (pop punk). i have a bachelors degree in audio engineering, and you can find some of my work over at my portfolio page.

music-wise, shoegaze is my life. ever since i first heard the stargazer lillies open for best coast in 2016, my life changed for good. recent influences include:

  • blue smiley
  • they are gutting a body of water
  • hotline tnt
  • swirlies
  • full body 2
  • feeble little horse
  • ringo deathstarr
  • life on venus
  • ovlov
  • alvvays
  • duster
  • horse jumper of love
  • lush

and some older influences (they're all over the place and may or may not be relevant to my current tastes) are:

  • twenty one pilots (ugh)
  • foster the people
  • the velvet teen
  • fall out boy
  • dave matthews band
  • tracy chapman
  • deadmau5
  • skrillex

when i'm not working on music, i have an obsession with roller coasters, how they're made, how they look, and the history surrounding them. i am obsessed with my home park, kennywood, and more particularly the coaster the phantom's revenge. i'll be devoting a shrine to it soon, so be on the lookout :) i also enjoy video games and speedrunning. some games i've enjoyed over the years are:

  • super mario bros series
  • mario kart
  • grand theft auto
  • schedule 1
  • club penguin (and subsequent cpps like journey)
  • pokemon series
  • early halo games
  • ...and other one-off nostalgia games from the 2000s

some people are tv and movie people, not really me. i don't watch a ton of movies (though my wife is trying to forcefeed me them slowly) and the only tv i do watch is trashy reality tv a la kitchen nightmares or supernanny. anime was never quite my jam and i never really do books. i do, however, love a good documentary. don't really have any recs, but there's quite a few i'v enjoyed. i guess this proves i'm just really into music.
